History

The Patterson Foundation was created in 2000 when Peter L. Frechette, then Patterson Companies chairman and CEO, and a few other executives of the company, made major contributions as a way to give back to the community. Today, the foundation is supported mainly by generous contributions of Patterson Companies employees.

The first grants and scholarships were awarded by the foundation in 2004, totaling $610,000. Since then, giving has reached $2.6 million in scholarships to 371 students from Patterson families and $6.7 million in grants to more than 100 non-profit organizations. While continuing to help provide health care services to those in need and support the educational goals of individuals, the mission of the foundation to "give back to the community," remains the same.
